A Jap game with a built in translation into English, Spanich, French
etc. The EU/US game, likewise, can be played in Japanese. In terms of genre this title also tries to offer the best of both
worlds - offering a duel system that will keep the hardcore Yugioh fans happy with its adherence to the official rules and
a semblance of a story line for the more RPG orientated(albeit without exploring, levelling up etc). Ok the plot is thin on
the ground but atleast there something to keep it ticking along, as opposed to Expert/WCT 2004 versions, with some posturing
and back-chat from your fellow duelists. Yugioh titles so far have tended to be failry polar in nature - Either straight-up
card dueling games with no plot or RPG attempts with a poor card system bolted on, but WWE hits the nail on the head in terms
of gameplay.
Firstly it offers a choice of decks to begin with so you dont have
to wait to implement your style of game. This in turn aids the learning curve - which is finely tuned so as not to leave you
slogging it out through umpteen duels struggling to get a half decent deck together, but whilst offering a challenge at the
same time. The mechanics of the duels are similar to those in Expert or WCT 2004, but things seem to run alot smoother and
theres definitely a noticeable difference in play speed - with WWE running appox twice as fast as the aforementioned titles.
There are plenty of new duelists to unlock with various tournaments to enter(including the excellent card limit tourneys which
have pre-requisites as to what you can have in your deck). All in all this is easily the best Yugioh title out there.
